JOSH WILLIAMS BIOGRAPHY
Information about the driver.
Josh Williams first got behind the wheel of a race car 13 years ago when he was just five years old. The youngster started out in go-karts before advancing to Quarter Midgets. Williams won the Southern State Championship in Jr. Honda and many other events before switching to Bandoleros.
In 2004, the 10-year old ended up fifth in the Summer Shootout standings and returned to Bandolero competition the following year earning the National Bandolero Bandits championship. Williams made the move to Legend cars shortly thereafter and in 2007 he became the Legends Semi-Pro champion in Florida. He also became the youngest driver to ever win the Palm Beach Grading Legends Touring Series championship as well as earning a second-place finish in the Red, White, and Blue Series during the Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway (NC) and a second-place finish at the Legends Asphalt Nationals at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (NV).
Williams also began racing in the FastKids Truck Division at Charlotte County Motorsports Park (FL) briefly before advancing to the ProTruck Division that same year. In 2008, Williams earned the Charlotte County Motorsports Park track championship after being moved up to the Legends Pro Division.
On top of his Legends racing schedule in the elite Pro division, with a 50% win ratio that year, 2009 saw Williams participate in the prestigious Humpy Heroes Driver Development Program. With that experience and so much success under his belt, Williams made the leap to the ARCA Racing Series in 2010. He competed in four races for his family-owned team at only 16-years of age.
In 2011, Williams made starts in the ARCA Racing Series once more, and strapped into various other race cars to gain as much experience as possible which will prepare him for a move up to the higher ranks of NASCAR. 2012 will again see Williams running in the ARCA Racing Series and multiple other vehicles as he continues his climb up through the racing ranks.
